Of course, we couldn’t avoid using the opportunity to highlight our championship, which will take place in September!
The event took place at the Beach Sports Center, where visitors experienced the true Olympic fan fever.
They watched the performances of #TeamSlovenia live on a big screen, which created a special connection with the Slovenian athletes competing in the Olympic Games in Paris. Afterward, the event moved to the Celje Summer Pool.
The Beach Sports Center in Koper was the venue for exciting sports activities from Saturday to Tuesday in the afternoon.
Participants, while watching live TV broadcasts on the big screen, could also try various sports such as kayaking, sport climbing, curling, beach volleyball, wheelchair basketball, and acrobatics. In addition, visitors competed in numerous other sports challenges.
The Olympic Festival was an opportunity for all generations to experience the Olympic atmosphere and support Slovenian Olympians.
The festival was honored by visits from Olympic swimmer and mentor Matjaž Markič with his Go Swim swimming school for the youngest, flatwater kayaker and Olympian Špela Ponomarenko Janić, national sport climbing coach Luka Fonda, Director of the Koper Handball Club Nejc Poklar, flatwater kayaker and Olympian Jernej Župančič Regent, Rado Gregorič, physical trainer of Toni Vodišek, rowing Olympians Andrej Hrabar and Matija Pavšič, and Arturo Steffe, president of the Koper Sports Association.
In addition to sports skills and fan energy, visitors tested their Olympic knowledge.
Every day of the event featured an Olympic quiz, where participants had the chance to win numerous prizes provided by event partners: VISA, SKB d.d., and Knoppers.
Perhaps a bit of luck for Andreja Leški’s gold medal also came from SKB Bank, which offered lucky coins and encouraged all Slovenian fans to throw a lucky coin for our heroes in Paris.
Visitors could still throw a virtual coin on their website www.skb.si/zasreco and wish the athletes good luck at the Olympics, with SKB Bank donating to the development of promising young athletes for every coin thrown.
VISA, a leading partner in digital payments and a long-time global partner of the Olympic Games, also supported our Olympian Toni Vodišek from Koper, who competed in the kiteboarding formula at the Olympics on August 4. The hot temperatures were cooled down with ice cream from Ljubljanske mlekarne.
On the last day of the event at each location, the organizers drew practical prizes among all participants, contributed by: OKS-ZŠZ, SIJ Group, VISA, SKB Bank, and Knoppers.
The Olympic Festival Paris 2024 in Koper was truly unforgettable; it brought together sports enthusiasts and created a wonderful atmosphere.
At the end, they were greeted via TV screen by the local hero Andreja Leški, with a gold medal around her neck.
